SENATOR INOUYE HOPEFUL INTER-ISLAND CARGO SERVICE TO RETURN SOON
Thursday, May 01, 2008
For Immediate Release
Washington , D.C. – U.S. Senator Daniel K. Inouye stated, “When I learned of the announcement of Aloha Airlines’ cargo operation shutting down on Monday, I could not just sit by and let it go. There were just too many people and businesses being hurt. I had to reach out and offer my help to get a primary air cargo operation back in business.
“I would like to thank Saltchuk Resources, Inc. for its willingness to re-engage in the discussions culminating in a purchase, to Aloha Airlines for encouraging the sale, and to its cargo employees for standing by to hopefully be a part of this new venture. I, too, look forward to a prompt and positive result out of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court today. Let’s get back flying and moving cargo between our islands.”
