INOUYE ANNOUNCES FINAL PASSAGE OF $11.6 MILLION FOR OCEAN RESOURCES & MARINE RESEARCH IN HAWAII

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- U.S. Senator Daniel K. Inouye announced that last night the Senate approved the House-Senate Conference Report to the Fiscal Year 1998 Commerce, Justice, State, and the Judiciary Appropriations bill which includes $11.6 million for various ocean resources and marine research initiatives in Hawaii.

The bill will now be transmitted to the White House to await President Clinton's signature.
