This grant is for the construction of an apron that will provide
needed ramp space for scheduled and itinerant aircraft and to
alleviate the constrained apron space when international,
domestic and interisland flights arrive and/or depart during peak
hours.

This money will fund Phase I of a wastewater treatment facility.
Due to major expansion of the airport facilities, wastewater flow
is expected to increase significantly. The new plant will
service the anticipated increase in effluent. Upon completion of
this new facility, work will commence on the new overseas
terminal, which is proposed for the site of the existing
wastewater treatment plant.

This grant will be used to extend the runway to meet the
operational demands of the airport. Limited runway length
imposes takeoff weight restrictions on departing overseas
flights. This project is to be completed in three
phases.

Pavement Maintenance Management Program,
Phase I |

This funding will be used to incorporate existing runway,
taxiway, and apron data on the general aviation airports in the
State of Hawaii into the database of Micropaver, the State's
Pavement Management System software. This System will reduce
maintenance and rehabilitation costs for pavement by developing
pavement deterioration models, maintenance and repair
alternatives, and program policies which will apply cost
effective repair solutions.
