WASHINGTON –Senator Daniel K. Inouye issued the following statement following the tragic shootings at Fort Hood.

“It was reported that more military personnel were killed at Fort Hood that day than in Iraq or Afghanistan.  It was an unbelievable day of tragedy, sadness and loss.  I pray that this horrific event does not result in ethnic or religious hatred.  My thoughts and prayers reside with the family members and friends of those who were lost and with the soldiers struggling to make sense of this betrayal brought on by one of their own.”
