FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WASHINGTON-Senator Daniel K. Inouye issued the following statement today.
"Today we honor and remember those who have given their life in defense of our nation and the freedoms we all cherish," said Senator Inouye, a retired Army Captain who received the Medal of Honor for his service in Europe during WWII. "On this Veterans Day, let us all take a moment to say a prayer of gratitude for those who have served our nation, and a prayer for the safe return of those who are presently standing in harms way, risking their lives far away from their families, on our behalf. On this Veterans Day, let us each undertake one act of kindness for a veteran in need. A cup of coffee, an extra jacket, or even a simple 'thank you for your service' which goes a long way in demonstrating that we as a nation remember and honor the sacrifices of our brave service men and women."
