I will never forget my first glimpse of the Capitol. This majestic building continues to be awe-inspiring for me every day that I see it. I hope that you will have the opportunity to visit the Capitol and to call upon my office in the Hart Senate Office Building. I look forward to seeing you.
Changes to Tours Due to Security Concerns
As a member of Congress, I am able to request Congressional tours of the White House, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Engraving and Printing and the Kennedy Center on your behalf. All are tours are free of charge. However, due to heightened security measures, certain tours are restricted. The White House and the Federal Bureau of Investigation have suspended all tours until further notice. Requests sent to my office are placed on waiting lists and will be submitted should the tours resume. The White House is open to school-group tours, and you may contact my office to make such arrangements. Additionally, my staff is able to conduct tours of the Capitol Building. Public tours are also available and are led by the Capitol Guide Service. Tours will commence at 9:00 a.m. and end at 4:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Visitors are requested to join the lines beyond the East Front Plaza, next to the East Front Screening Facility. I can provide you with a gallery pass to view the Senate in session, and you may use the pass at the conclusion of your tour. Each Congressional office is allotted a limited number of tour tickets. Therefore, I suggest that you contact my staff as soon as your travel plans have been finalized with the requested information (see below). Requests are submitted on a first-come, first-served basis. Congressional tours can be filled up as early as three months prior to the tour date. Please make your tour request via telephone, mail, or fax. Do not submit your tour requests via e-mail. 1) PERSON REQUESTING TOURS: Other Tours of Interest: Return to Senator Inouye's Home Page |
